Try out wines from smaller vineyards like Saddlerock and Semler with a Laithwaite’s Promo Code

While the Malibu area isn’t California’s most well known wine growing region, we do have some amazing small vineyards in the area. Being that these are mostly small and family-run vineyards you won’t find their products in most liquor stores as they just don’t have the production capacity. So where can you find these small batch wines? Mostly from online wine clubs, they already have amazing prices and you can use a promo code to save even more. We recommend Laithwaite’s for your ‘wines of the month’ club, and we’d like to feature two smaller vineyards today: Saddlerock Wine and Semler Malibu Estate Wines.

What is Laithwaite’s

Laithwaite’s is an online wine retailer who also features a ‘wine club’ option where you can subscribe to get a variety of different wines sent to you at an interval of your choosing. If you enjoy trying different types of wines but really don’t go through that much in a month you are welcome to choose a less frequent delivery. You are also able to specify if there are certain types of wines that you just do not enjoy, and they will not include those in your wine subscription.

I have had a subscription for almost a year now and I’ve really enjoyed getting to sample wines from smaller vineyards such as Saddlerock and Semler Malibu Estate that I would not be able to find otherwise. This having been the year of COVID as well I haven’t been especially keen on going to many stores, and most of the vineyards have had to close their tasting rooms as well. Being able to get a wide variety of wines delivered right to my door has been a great way to keep my passion for wine tasting alive during this time, I look forward to getting my delivery every month.

How much can I expect to save with a Laithwaite’s promo code?

New customers or subscribers to their delivery service can expect to get the biggest discounts at up to $100 off your first case. For existing customers there are discounts of $30-$40 available as well, typically you will need to meet a minimum purchase requirement to be eligible for the promotion. Sometimes they also include free gifts with your order, such as a free mystery bottle of wine or a free bottle from a certain vineyard that they are featuring. Every now and again the best discount I can find is a $5 one, but their prices are already so reasonable it’s really not a problem.

Saddlerock Wine

The Saddlerock Wine is one of the varietals produced on the Semler Family ranch located in Malibu. The Semler Ranch actually produces 12 different varietals, and Saddlerock is one of it’s most well-known. Currently Saddlerock Wine feature: Muscat, Rose of Grenache, Chardonnay, Port, Pinot Grigio, Grenache Blanc, Sauvignon Blanc, Sangiovese, Merlot, Zinfandel, Pinot Noir, a Red Blend, Sparkling Brut, and Sparkling Rose. Originally a cattle ranch, the property now features a variety of animals as well as their 100 acres of vines, 5 wedding & event venues, as well as the offices for the Malibu Family Wines company. Although the tasting room for Saddlerock Wine is currently closed, they are offering guided hiking tours of the property which really is beautiful. The property also has caves with pictographs created by the local Chumash tribe that date back hundreds of years.

Semler Wine

Semler Wine, or Semler Malibu Estate Wine, is another varietal that is grown on the Semler Family ranch lands. The Semler family has owned the land since 1978 and does actually still live on the property today. The Semler Wine family includes Sauvignon Blanc, Rose of Syrah, Rose of Grenache, Viognier, Pinot Noir, Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Sparkling Rose, and Red Blends. You may actually recognize the Semler Ranch grounds as the background in many movies, TV shows, and music videos as the location is used extensively for filming as well as wine production. The location just happens to be the ideal conditions for growing grapes as it’s quite steep and south facing for excellent sun exposure. They started in 1997 with just 14 acres and two kinds of grapes, and now they are up to 85 acres and 8 different kinds of grapes.
